Tame Impala Pt. 2 Ableton Project

4.00

The Ableton Projects from my Tame Impala Pt.2 tutorial. This features 4 tracks, for the songs Beverly Laurel, Mind Mischief, The Less I Know The Better and Yes I'm Changing, and feature all the synth/keys parts from those songs. All the effects are Ableton native effects carefully tweaked to sound like the original songs.

This is a pretty plugin-heavy bunch of projects. Beverly Laurel requires Arturia Farfisa, Prophet and Mini and The Less I Know The Better requires M-Tron Pro and AAS Lounge Lizard.

3rd Party Plugins Used

  • TAL U-NO-LX
  • Arturia Mini-V
  • Arturia Prophet-V
  • Arturia Farfisa-V
  • AAS Lounge Lizard EP-4
  • GForce M-Tron Pro

Optional 3rd Party Effects Plugins

  • Amplitube 4

Beverley Laurel

There are two organ tracks, a lead synth track and a bass synth track, using the Arturia plugin Farfisa V, Prophet V and Mini V. The 4 tracks are grouped with a sidechain compressor on the group triggered by a kick sample that is routed to sends only. Feel free to add your own drums to this track to make it groove!

Mind Mischief

This is just the keys part that comes in halfway through the song, it's originally a Juno-106 run through a guitar amplifier so I've used TAL U-NO-LX run through Amplitube, and I've created an Ableton version, for those without Amplitube, that uses the Live instrument Amp.

The Less I Know The Better

This features the synth lead, rhodes piano and mellotron string parts. Again audio tracks are there in case you're missing one of these plugins.

Yes I'm Changing

I split up the 'Yes I'm Changing' patches between my first and second Tame Impala tutorials so I compiled another project with all of the patches from both tutorials. The tracks include the main Juno pad synth, the FM8 bells, and the Moog harpsichord. I've made an Ableton Instrument Rack of the main pad so be sure to save this to your Ableton library so you can drag it into other projects. It's a great sound and I've put all the important controls in the Ableton Macros for easy tweaking.
